Everything You Need To Know About Animal Mills

Hello, my friends! I am Leafy Kitten Coco, and I'm here to educate you on the horrible, disgusting, ANIMAL MILLS! First things first, animal mills are bad, if you didn't know that.

This article will tell you different animal mills, and how to help protest against them, along with other fun things to help these innocent creatures!

Animal Mill Types

They're are so many different animal mill types, but just a few of them include:

Bunnies

Puppies

Kitties

Birds

Rodents

Ferrets

And even reptiles!

What Is An Animal Mill?

Now, you've learned different types of mills, but what exactly do they do that could be so bad? For starters, people take a female, for example, a bird. Then, they get a male bird, and they make the female have babies with the male. I am not sure what they do to the male, but they either sell it, or kill it. Or let it roam wild and kill itself. Back to the female. Please note, while they are doing all of this, the birdies are trapped in a cage. Then, once they are a little bit older, (the baby birds) they get separated from their mother, and someone comes along and buys them. Now, that mother just has to give birth to more and more babies, until she cannot anymore, she dies. If the birdlets are not bought, I believe they are killed. That is what a bird mill is, to answer your question!

Ways To Help These Critters

Now you've heard just how bad these places can be. You're probably wondering what you can do to stop this from happening! Thankfully, there are many ways to stop this overpopulation of animals, so how?

This section will teach you just that!

Get Your Next Pet At A Shelter

Yes, that elegant poodle you saw at that pet store sure looked cute. And of course that big, fluffy persian was just asking for a hug. But no, you shouldn't buy it, unless you asked someone who owned the store or a staff member if that little guy was from a shelter. If it is, then go ahead, you're saving an animal! If not, don't buy it, please. You could save an animal from anywhere, I tell you. Yes, that animal does need saving, but you could help it in another way, maybe by asking if they could partner with an animal shelter, then it would be better!

Don't Buy Your Pet Online

Buying your pet online is a really bad idea. If you haven't met it, what if someone is hiding a problem it really has, but you don't know because you got it online? There are all sorts of problems it could have, from biting to cancer! It could cost you a major amount of money, and what if it's actually on the brink of death? Also, what if it doesn't like you? There is so many factors to consider.

Donate To Your Local Animal Shelter

Donating to your local animal shelter help the animals that are currently living in the shelter.

Bonus:
Adopt your pet from a website. Now, you're probably like, "Leafy Kitten Coco! You just said, don't buy your pet online!" ! I know! But, if you go to, for example, your local animal shelters' website, and are like, wow! This one really looks like it fits my personality! and then, you drive over there to check on it, and look at it to make sure it doesn't have any diseases, and then you're like, I'm going to adopt you! then its a-okay. Or if you went to this really awesome website called Petfinder.com. you can see animals from shelters near you, and see how they're doing and stuff! Read their description, and fill out a form to come and meet them, and VOILA! You saved an animal!

Goodbye!
